So here we are again. Right where, if things were even remotely normal, I would be hard pressed to remove the chocolatey bits and fingerprints sticking to me, my notebook, my recipe notes, my pens, all over my kitchen and gods know where else after finishing my Easter Eggstravaganza Chocolate Boxes for my family and friends and sharing the highlight-recipe with you guys. Alas, things are not quite back to normal. Oh well… I guess my carefully planned out Party Box of Cocktail Chocolates I promised you guys “Once all that <insert a string of profanities here to colorfully describe the pandemic> is over and done with” still has to wait on the sidelines for a while.
Weeeee~! It’s here! Despite the lack of general Christmasness in it’s usual places around town, the gig is undeniably close! Since, for obvious and understandable reasons, the world outside fails at truly being Holly and/or Jolly, both states are something to be grown, nourished and cherished on the inside – all the more reason to get excited about the whole thing, in a way~ And what better seed is there to tick all the boxes in that regard than chocolate?
You’d think that knowing of a certain events’ approach, seeing as it’s actually an annually re-occuring event, would cushion the touchdown of said event. Of course, I’m talking Summer-Break. A third of the office is well, out of the office – or rather “Home Office” – one third is dreamily anticipating being out of the office and the other third has one foot out of the door already, counting down in hours and seconds rather than weeks.
Well, usually I would be standing in my kitchen right about now, covered in chocolate, in the process of putting together my Easter-Eggstravaganza Chocolate Boxes for the upcoming Easter festivities. But, for the first time in many, many years, I will have to postpone the shindig. Postpone, not cancel~!
Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my hooooney~ <placidly hums to herself>
Alright guys, as always around this time of the year, it’s time for my Winter Box of Chocolates! This time around I actually had help during the selection (actually, help me out on this one… does “Everything!” qualify as help along the lines of “pick two out of these five”~? Hmmm?).
Aha, temperatures have dropped down to a level that allows chocolate to make an appearance in a non-ice-creamy or unintentionally-melted state~! By now, of course, the mindnumbigly aggressive Christmas brainwash, brought to us by our favorite food industry, is already in full swing, selling Christmas sweets since mid-September.
Ah, here it is, Summer! Outdoors season for Hubby and me has arrived! Whether it’s Hubby taking his bike up and down the surrounding mountains, me rolling out my Yoga mat beneath my favorite tree in the park or the both of us hiking the trails, having a healthy dose of backup energy stashed away in easy reach is always a good idea. Since I don’t do storebought energy/granola bars on principle, I have made a habit, as you guys might have noticed, of coming up with new energy ball combinations – while also whipping up our favorites, of course – on a very regular basis. That’s why there’s an fruity energy bite to be found in every single one of my chocolate boxes~!
Welcome to this year’s Spring Chocolate Bash a.k.a. My Easter Eggstravaganza~! Just like every year, I used the Spring Holidays as an excuse to dish out delicious little representatives of my “Summer Chocolates” recipe collection to every chocoholic and sweet tooth I know – and, just like every year, the recipes for each bite will appear here, one after another, starting with my personal pick and continuing in the order my chocolate-covered friends, family and of course you request them.
Oh boy, it’s that time of the year again~! Certain markers, especially the smaller ones like the upcoming Valentine’s Day always startle me in a “didn’t we just do this like… yesterday?”-kind of way. The bigger holidays always seem sooo~ far away but, at least to me, the small ones really make the passing of time blatantly obvious. So, Valentine’s Day in just a bit over a week – as always a reason for Hubby and me not to do what extensive pink, flowery and chocolatey media bombardment expects us to do~!
