Ever since that little early morning holiday stroll through the city gardens and our visit to the baby goat’s playground I mentioned last week, a little voice in the back of my head kept telling me to whip up something on the goaty side of things. Now, if you’re not really a fan of goat’s milk, cheese ot meat to begin with and/or have had the questionable honor of getting a capital blast of full-force GOAT odeur at some point in your life, you might wonder how getting close and personal with a couple of these fragrant animals could possibly invoke an appetite for anything related to them.

I really hope you guys had a fabulous, delicious, long and relaxing weekend like we did! Whether you actually celebrated the holidays or not, if you found yourself in our part of the world, you would have been able to enjoy Mother Natures’ grand entrance to the party that we can now officially call “Spring”. She really put on her Sunday dress this year and rocked our world for the last couple of days, making everybody sigh contentedly, close their eyes and tilt their faces towards the sun for four days straight~
Welcome to this year’s Spring Chocolate Bash a.k.a. My Easter Eggstravaganza~! Just like every year, I used the Spring Holidays as an excuse to dish out delicious little representatives of my “Summer Chocolates” recipe collection to every chocoholic and sweet tooth I know – and, just like every year, the recipes for each bite will appear here, one after another, starting with my personal pick and continuing in the order my chocolate-covered friends, family and of course you request them.
Walking through the bustling passages winding though the Farmer’s Market on Saturday made several very delicious things blatantly obvious in one fell swoop: It’s Spring! It’s Herb Season! And Blueberry Season is nosing it’s way in along with Asparagus and Strawberry Season!
During the last couple of days, Hubby and I were lucky enough to have some time off to fully enjoy the fabulous Spring-sneak-peek mother nature blessed us with. Of course that first glimpse of warmer days to come also presented an irresistible invitation for me to update the contents of our freezer with a refreshing treat or two~!
Sometimes magic just happens. Not the boogidyboogidy-kind of magic, but the real fairy-dance kind that ignites sparks around your head when the perfect time of day, place, lighting, mood, company and all other good things come together by some sort of cosmic miracle and give you a little kiss. This recipe is one of the results of one such perfect moment that occurred at around 8am on Sunday the 23rd of September 2018 on a hiking trail hugging the side of a steep valley on the beautiful island of Madeira.
For some reason, certain clichés and stereotypes are insanely slow to fade away. For one, there’s still a surprisingly (and shamefully) large percentage of neanderthal “gamers” desperately clinging to the illusion that the world of gaming is a chest-thumping, club-swinging men’s world. Another cliché sticking to us gamers like a bad habit is, of course, that we don’t do “healthy”. How can we? We’re sitting in the dark basement with our faces taped to a screen all day~!
Usually when there’s a weather warning out for our general corner of the world, it never actually hits our specific corner of the world. I suppose being tucked away between two mountain ranges and two rivers might have something to do with that, but be that as it may, this time around, it actually hit us. “Storm Gusts of 85-95km/h” they predicted and that’s exactly what we got – and more, what with our two usually so protective middle mountains acting as a perfect wind tunnel.
Oh boy. Here it is! That uncontrollable nasty little urge to bite into a juicy, not too sweet, dark chocolatey piece of brownie that crawls out of the woodwork about once or twice a year… and of course it comes knocking down the front door when there’s no oven in sight. What to do, what to do?
Slowly but surely, the world around me is going bananas. The great outdoors around me looks like an 80’s aerobic class and the local brewery teamed up with a Cirque de Soleil stage set and all the confetti ever produced for the CSD parades all across the globe… and had a good twirl on the Studio 54 floor together.
